Two things have made me patiently aware that my age is catching up with me:
1) All of my falls and the concern that I probably haven’t suffered the last one. My trips to one or more of my medical doctors has become an inevitable routine.
2) My realization that I missed the computer age and am having a real challenge trying to use this machine. It seems a little ironic that almost everyone in the family knows more about computers than I do regardless of their age.
I have told some of you that I haven’t always been illiterate on typewriters. During WW2, I was chosen as one of 5 recruites, out of 160, to do demobilizaton (office) work. During a few weeks training, I typed a memorized sentence on a manual typewriter at the rate of 100 words per minute without a mistake for 5 minutes. Now it seems like I type 100 mistakes per minute.
Furthermore, I have had Helen, Jo Ann, Audrey, Lindsay, and others try and help me know what I am doing. Still I do not remember from one day to the next what I am doing nor how to do it.
If you don’t get this note to acknowledge your messages it will just go to show that my assessment of ‘Computer Block’ is true.

P.S. Please keep writing. I can still read.

I have been trying to catch up on your posts. You are writing some interesting posts–I don’t see 100 mistakes a minute! Keep on posting.

Sharon
